Formed in 1874 as a conglomeration of various Texan independent oil companies, Nexaco has been one of the predominant oil producers and refiners in America for the last century. Constantly butting heads with its rivals up until the 1964 Sunrise Platform spill. Nexaco's clumsy efforts to contain this lead to a vast ecological catastrophe, poisoning dozens of towns across the Gulf and getting them barred from any operations in Florida or the Gulf until 2024. While initially biding their time with Atlantic and Pacific drilling, they've made overtures towards Florida especially as the state burns. With their heavy handed mercantilism muscling into the divided Florida corporate scene, they're aiming to reclaim their share of the Gulf of Mexico's oil market by any means necessary.
